So I decided that I'd like to bring my Mudkip Lolita to Otakon at some point, so I can cosplay from the internet when Laina's MegaMilk girl. So I went by Shoeland today and found some fucking HILARIOUS shoes, which totally have ankle straps that were inspired by spats:

Downloaded some of MELL's music, in preparation for seeing her at Otakon. SOOOO excited. Red Fraction (main theme from Black Lagoon) is one of my favorite animu songs, because not only does it sound badass, the entire song is amazing ENGRISH.

Man, Katharine Hepburn was totally a badass. Not only did she do stuff like go skinny dipping in the fountains at her college, and also gave hilarious responses when forced to talk to the press. Reporters once stormed into her and her husband's boat cabin and asked her if she was really married, to which she replied, "I don't know", and when they asked her if they had any children together she said, "Two white and three colored".

One of the huge things that first got her noticed was when she played an Amazon princess in a play, and while wearing a scanty costume, jumped down a flight of stairs with a stag on her shoulders. She also wore men's suits to interviews, saying that they were "more comfortable" and got women to start wearing pants because of it.

After seeing this, I was curious exactly what happens to someone with Dysentery, since it can apparently kill you in Oregon Trail.

Went over to Alina's last night for fireworks galore. She had a For Reals riot shield on her back porch, so the guys thought it would be cool for one of them to hold the shield while the other guys shot roman candles at them. The results were both hilarious and terrifying:

Just finished replaying Kingdom Hearts (significantly easier since I just followed the guide all the way through this time), and am wondering why I cried over the ending. When I'm pretty sure I didn't even cry the FIRST time I played the game. >___>

Ugh I slept SO much today. Slept in until 12:30, and then took another 2 hour nap in the afternoon. Fuck you cold. D:

Tried to get some sewing done, but didn't do too much. Just got the buttons sewn on Serpico, and sketched out how I'm going to do his weird collar thing.

Decided I wanted to redo Jun for Otakon, since I already have the wig (birthday present from Misha last year), and fabric for her dress. Just need to find some Chinese slippers, and get some cardstock and paint, and I should be able to throw her together within a couple of days. Need to finish Serpico first, though. >(

The new work schedule will be up this week, pretty sure that the next day I have off will be completely dedicated to sewing since I didn't actually get to start on it at all this week like I'd planned. I'm just soooo looking forward to having Serpico done and out of the way.

Andrea moved into the room next to mine today, and we are living rather peacably thus far. She tried to show me some lime soy flakes, which I put in my mouth because I thought they were edible. However, they are apparently for burning not eating, and tasted like wax. Obviously I am working towards becoming more and more like retarded Caska with each passing day...

I wish mucus would stop trying to escape from all possible orifices in my body, it's getting REALLY aggravating. Was finally able to put stuff away in the garage after Gerald left to take Clarissa home, although I'm pretty sure the extra exertion and dust just made me feel shittier. D:

Thank goodness I have Nyquill left over from the last time I had a cold... X___x

All I have left to do is make the necklace charm and he'll be all finished. Sosa's costume is all finished, and all I have left for my Steampunk costume is to put together the eyepiece, finish the gun holster (which is about 90% done now anyway), and make the tool belt/gun holster. Kanji is going to be more difficult than I expected, I hadn't realized that I'd actually sewn the pants hems down with the embroidery stitching, so I'm going to need to take all that stitching out so that I can refit the pants, and then do all the stitching back up. Saving that for last since it's a lot of hand sewing.

Still need to finish putting together the Runway music CD for the Costume Contest, I keep going over it and trying to rework it; I'm worried that it sounds too "Early 90's" lol. But think I'm doing pretty well, since I've got until about 8pm or so to get everything all done.

HOLY CRAP! CRISPIN FREEMAN IS COMING TO OTAKON! THE ONLY ENGLISH VOICE ACTOR I'VE EVER CARED ABOUT MEETING! HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO COOL BUT IT SUCKS BECAUSE I DON'T THINK IT'S HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO DO THE ZELGADIS COSTUME I'VE BEEN WANTING TO DO FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS IN TIME FOR OTAKON. D:

I like how I went downstairs to get a glass of water and food, and then accidentally spent an hour cleaning the kitchen and living room. And then forgot to get food. XD

Sosa came over today, and was nice enough to stick around for several hours, playing his DS while I drafted patterns and fitted them for his costume, which makes things wayyy easier for me. :D Got his vest fabric all cut out, think I should be able to get it all sewn together tonight. *crosses fingers*

Very excited because Lily is coming over early tomorrow to help with her steampunk costume, which is awesome since I'll be able to get her shirt and skirt fitted to her, and get her skirts and petticoat figured out AND get some quality Lily time. ♥

Had Gerald drop me off at the Goodwill that just opened up by our house on his way to work today. I needed to get some pants for work, and possibly something to wear under my Steampunk jacket in case I wanted to take it off. I managed to get the pants and a cool oversized shirt in moleskin olive green to wear under my jacket. But I ALSO found 2 super cute shirts from Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe for only .75 each, some apple shoes donated by Target for $2.00, stuff for Lily's petticoat, AND the Land Before Time and Liar Liar for .40 each. :D

On the way back, I walked into this strange store called Price Rite that Gerald and I always pass and wonder what's inside. It was a fairly abysmal place, with strange odds and ends that looked like they'd been sitting there for 10 years (which is obviously impossible, since the store opened in April). I felt too bad if I left the store without making a purchase, so I got some tissue paper and incense sticks.

Been pretty busy tonight. Did some photoshop things, including throwing together a rather ( cute new wallpaper )
Also got one of my steampunk guns all finished. It looks SO much better than it did originally but unfortunately my camera batteries are so dead it won't even turn on for me to take a picture of it.

And I finished listening to the last book of Twilight today. It was SO long. And PAINFUL. PAINFULLY LONG. D:

Alright, I'm off to sew like the Hoover Dam, like water. Which Laina determined after she said she was going to sew like the wind and was worried that the wind might actually not sew very well. But I told her she'd be like those cool Switzerland Wheels, so she'd be fine. :D

Oh man, they have a big rainy day sale on Poupee today and I spent wayyy too much ribbons. So many cute things! ...AND ghost charms! I am tempted to buy another ghost charm, they have such hilarious faces...

Got some rather hilarious and pleasing compliments tonight from two different people- that I am a very FOCUSED drunk. Alex actually didn't even realize that I was still QUITE drunk because I'd been walking around for a while, cleaning up around the clubhouse after CA's party. And then after cleaning up the entire clubhouse and scrubbing everything down, Alex dropped me off back home and I managed to put all the party remains away, clean up around the kitchen, and wipe out the cooler, leaving it to dry. I become a bit more forgetful than usual while intoxicated, but can remember to do all the little things that I'm concerned about. How strange lol.

Anyway, off to bed now, sleepiness is finally catching up wiht me now that I'm sitting down. D:
